Services that we currently complete on modern metric motorcycles newer than 2003:
All Riders Welcome.
We started Federal Cycles in 2016. Our commitment to you is clear: unmatched communication, thorough and honest service work, and skilled craftsmanship.
Our business story began in 2010 in a garage in Ocean City. The founders were friends and college students, looking for better ways to get around their towns and campuses. This is where the spark and passion for the two-wheeled industry began. They started their path in the motorcycle industry the same way many of you did: by starting small and growing into bigger machines. the founders started by repairing and selling motor scooters in Ocean City, cutting their teeth by fixing, assembling, and selling bikes in a tiny 10'x10' warehouse on 1st street in the middle of summer.
They hustled all summer and saw potential for the scooter market in College Park, MD. In August of 2010, College Scooters was officially born. The founders bootstrapped the Federal Cycles' sister company from a dream to a reality. Almost 9 years later, College Scooters continues to redefine what it means to commute on two-wheels in the DC and Maryland region. Along with founding College Scooters, the team launched Shore Cycles in 2015 in Salisbury, Maryland, which is known as "The Eastern Shore's Most Diverse Cycle Shop" servicing motorcycles, ATVs, dirt bikes, and scooters.
After years of growth with Federal Cycles, we have decided to merge Federal Cycles with College Scooters, and get back to the roots of our company in the DMV: selling and servicing scooters. We are still happy to take in oil and tire changes on modern metric bikes. The main reason for this decision is that our volume on the scooter side has simply increased so much that it necessitates our team be focused on the hundreds of scooters we must keep in running condition, repair, and PDI.
